Mediation Video

This DVD, or VHS tape (screen shot, above) is titled, Alternatives to Violence, Conflict Resolution, Negotiation and Mediation. It is gender and ethnicity diverse as it feature high school students in a peer mediation setting. The DVD is currently available from, Discovery Education Store as item #DC023734. Their web site MAY seem a bit confusing and one needs to patiently keep searching for this title - the link should help. Cost of the set is about $80 USD depending upon when you shop. We only use the last 12.5 minutes of part II - Mediation. As with our poster graphic, the essence of our six step process is nicely demonstrated albeit with slightly different segment titles and number thereof. This video segment is used with MVG and M8 of the Student Workbook.

Students simply view it near the beginning of the workshop. At the end and as the concluding activity, the video is viewed a second time and page MTG is completed in a cooperative manner by the MIT quads. It is a CFU as well as a possible item analysis instrument to help with continuing mediator training and curriculum evaluation.
